Attack Cactuses (or Cacti?)

First, let me put this plural issue about these thorny plants to rest.   I did some serious research on this, at least 3 minutes on the the internet and both cacti and cactuses are acceptable.    Enough with you smarty pants whiners.

These CACTUSES are dangerous!    After my fourth cup of coffee this morning I headed out into open range land adjacent to the Cactus Country RV Park to get some photos of the various CACTUSES.    Minding my own damn business, walking amongst the CACTUSES, a dead clump of catcus jumped up from behind me and impaled itself on my ankle!      Ladies and Gentlemen, I am here to tell you - IT HURT!     What was I to do?  Grab the thing and pull it out?  I may be from Indiana but I am not that supid!   I hobbled around for a few minutes and found a stick to pry the thing off my leg.   Then the bleeding started which attracted scorpions, mountain lions, and buzzards.   Rough start to the day.

This is actual range land - as in grazing rights sold off to ranchers for the raising of cattle.   Leaves one wondering what these poor critters eat out here.
